51% Whole Grain Pizza Dough

It’ll Be Pizza is pleased to announce the creation of our new 51% Whole Grain Pizza dough, specifically designed to meet the new nutritional guidelines that go into effect at schools throughout the United States in September of 2012.

The new requirements are part of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act signed into law last year by President Barack Obama and championed by the First Lady Michelle Obama as part of her Let’s Move! campaign. The changes mark the first overhaul of the school lunch program in more than 15 years and will affect the nearly 32 million children who eat at school. Under the new regulations, schools will be required to offer fruits and vegetables every day, increase the amount of whole-grain foods and reduce the sodium and fats in the foods served.

Our new pizza dough was created to meet the new regulations while still featuring a taste profile that children will enjoy. Made with a combination of White Whole Wheat and Stoneground Wheat flours and sweetened with honey, our recipe actually exceeds the new requirements, and have been tested and enjoyed by students throughout New England.

Our new product is available as a frozen dough ball, or as a frozen, pre-sheeted 16 inch round. Contact us today to schedule a tasting at your location.
